Another position available within the Bradbury Group is the role of Door Order Processor. This role requires the successful candidate to provide a professional, proactive and efficient sales process to all Bradbury clients, as well as colleagues in other departments within Bradbury. Further Expansion of the Bradbury Site

Construction of a Digger 002new storage area at Bradbury's 98,000sq ft manufacturing plant in Scunthorpe is now underway. The new facility will add a much needed 8,000sq ft of storage space to Unit 10. This will be used primarily to store substation doors prior to despatch or collection by Bradbury's utilitiy sector customers.

Since 2012 Bradbury's Scunthorpe site has been expanded by 50% with over £2 million invested in  new plant and machinery. This gives the Company the capacity to realise ambitious future growth  targets across all 4 product areas - steel doors, retractable security grilles, server safes and security cages.

Begin a Career in Engineering with the Bradbury Group

academy-picIn an exciting initiative the Bradbury Group has launched Bradbury Engineering Academy. The Academy offers a unique opportunity for Apprentices to gain workplace experience combined with academic study to NVQ Level 3 and beyond.

Successful candidates will enrol on a 3 year programme that begins with the chance to experience a wide range of engineering based job functions leading to specialisation in one of three different job functions: Design/CAD Engineer, CAD Technician, Tooling Technician. Responsibilities will include contributing to the development of innovative design solutions, developing models in CAD solidworks and taking the lead on small design projects.

On qualification Academy Engineers can take up a full time position within the Bradbury Group or move into employment in the highly sought after profession of engineering.

Bradbury Group and Youth Engineering Scunthorpe

yesBradbury Security have been working closely with Youth Engineering Scunthorpe, a charity established to provide employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people aged 17-24 years old from the Scunthorpe area.

As a not for profit business supported by skilled engineers and operatives, YES provides the training, experience and support for young people to enable them to enter the labour market.

Each year YES aims to give this chance to 12 young people, including 6 unemployed young adults and 6 engineering apprentices. Trainees receive tailor-made training and in their own time are supported back into the labour market. This provides local employers with a ready source of fully trained operatives with engineering skills and proven track record. Youth Engineering have provided us with a viable alternative to importing components from China, offering greater flexibility, better lead times and enabling us to give something back into the local economy

New Procurement Manager Appointed At Bradbury Group
mikewardThe Bradbury Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Ward as Procurement Manager. This new role has been created in response to the increased demands on the Purchasing Department from the Company's exceptional growth over recent years.

Having begun his career in the Royal Air Force, Mike has worked in Purchasing for a number of engineering based businesses moving to Bradbury from British Aerospace in Saudi Arabia. Pleased to be relocated back in the UK, Mike's expertise will be invaluable in shaping the Purchasing Department to meet the future needs of Bradbury's growing business.

Other members of the Purchasing Team will report to Mike who will work alongside Supply Chain Manager, Jim Watt. A popular Manager at Bradbury, Jim has been on long term leave due to ill health. Colleagues and suppliers alike were delighted when he returned to work recently and look forward to seeing him back in the office again soon.

Also, should extra reassurance be required, we can coat all of our products with a zinc rich primer and paint which is guaranteed for 10 years. As well as offering a Bradbury standard colour chart, we are also able to provide custom powder coatings in a vast range of colours. This means that our products can become an attractive feature for any premises, and offers endless possibilities to customise and personalise orders. Our state of the art powder coating not only delivers the highest quality finish, it is also environmentally friendly, with any surplus paint being automatically recycled back into the process.
